Hi there, I'm Sherri. I'm the mother of 4 beautiful
daughters, Mandi 18, Alanna 15 and Sarah and Lucy who are 14 months. I'm also a
wife to an amazing,funny,talented (to name a few) man. I normally work for the
Ministry of Finance as an admin assistant in the Corporations Tax branch, but
I'm currently on leave until February of 2006. Due to my pregnancy with the
twins, I had to leave work in July 2004. Here in Canada we're lucky enough to
get 1 year of paid mat leave which for me ended in October. So it's back to the
old grind stone soon, and I must say I really don't want to go back. I'm having
so much fun with the little ones and it's nice to be at home when the older
girls get home from school.
I'm originally from Gander Newfoundland, and I was born in 1966. I have 4 siblings, my eldest brother Rick, then Bill, myself, then my only sister Joann and finally my baby brother John. We moved into my childhood home when I was 1 and I stayed there until I was 18. I married when I was 19 and had Mandi when I was 20, Alanna came along when I was 23. The marriage ended after 13 years.
I met Colin on ICQ in April of 1999, I spoke with him a couple of times on my friends computer because I didn't have one of my own. I did get my own computer a couple of months later in June. My girls were visiting their paternal grandparents over the summer school break so in July I decided to fly to England to meet Colin in person. People always ask me how I had the nerve to fly to another country to meet someone I had never seen, well.... I had spoken with him on the computer for a while and then I spoke with him on the phone a couple of times everyday for a month before I went over. My brother worked for an airline and he had booked my ticket so that if I needed to I could change my flight at any time and come back sooner. I also had to call my friend, Ann everyday to let her know I was fine and if there was any problem we had a secret word that if I said it she was to call the police. She had Colin's address and phone number, his works address and number as well as his parents info. I had called him at work a few times so we knew the number was correct. So I felt pretty comfortable.
Needless to say it was the best 10 days of my life, what an amazing time we had. I cried the whole flight back!! 3 weeks later I was on the plane back again. I only went for the weekend but it was worth it. Colin flew over here next. All in all I flew there 4 time and Colin flew here 3 times. We managed to see each other every month except for February but I flew over on March 2nd with Mandi and Alanna to bring Colin back home with us for good. Since then life has been somewhat of a rollercoaster. It was really tough in the beginning with just me working but we somehow managed. Colin and I married on October 7th 2000 and we now have our own home, 4 bedrooms, 3000 square feet with a pool, in a beautiful neighbourhood and we were blessed with our twin girls a little over a year ago on October 7th 2004. That's right, they were born on our 4th wedding anniversary!! So now we are a family of 6 and we're very content with our lives right now.
